With the aim to encourage the exchange of knowledge among professors, researchers, professionals in the field of historical memory and health and individuals interested in this topic, The Peace and Conflict Research Institute of the University of Granada, and the European Federation of Psychodrama and Organizations (FEPTO) organize the international meeting "emotional scars of our wars" about transgenerational and social consequences of armed conflicts and traumatic experiences.
How many lifes can a war last?
How much time does it take for the wounds to be healed?
What does living in conflict zones mean?
Which is the difference between a “war” and an “armed conflict”?
Which is the relationship between Silence and Trauma?
And among Silence, Word and resilience?
Is it posible to forget the memories?
Can we learn from the past?
What does Restorative Justice mean?
How is it possible to rebuilt life after Fear?
Can the sense of collective be restored?
Is it possible to start dreaming together again?
Things that is impossible to be said, can they be looked up in Painting, Poetry or the Art-transformed?
How peace is built in a Word War?
And the most important,
Who are going to do it?
This conference comes with the intention of creating a space for exchange of evidence, testimonies, research and proposals that can put the data in relation to the real possibilities of intervention and clinical practice with individuals and groups in risk areas, conflict or war zones.
From our perspective, as professionals and students of different branches of social work such as psychology, medicine, psychodrama, pedagogy, history and artistic creation, the current global reality brings us to educate ourselves and create tools to deal with what it is impossible to ignore, and we are sure that is unethical to give up trying.
In the first place, we would like to invite you to the International Conference "The emotional traces of our wars" with a program based on lectures, round tables and practical workshops, coordinated and proposed by professionals and researchers from different parts of Europe. The contents of the conference consist in working directly with the personal, family, emotional, biological and historical consequences of War.
Through this conference we intend to share these experiences and create possibilities for generating new analytical perspectives, knowledge and proposals emerged from cooperative work, interdisciplinary and enriching dialogue between theory and experience.
To achieve this, we expect to create active-exchange spaces, relying on the possibility that this encounter will embody a new way of looking. An opportunity, beyond de usual fear, ¨not-knowing how¨, ¨not having the power to. An opportunity based on interaction and creativity. It is an exchange that embodies a perspective based on cooperation and real solidarity, that creates a place where the other exists and where coexistance is possible.
